CMST 210 - Interpersonal Communication (Bratton): Source 2: Gale Virtual Reference Library

Library information and resources for Amy Bratton's CMST 210 class

Source 2: Gale Virtual Reference Library

Your speech should also include information from Gale Virtual Reference Library (often shortened to Gale or GVRL). This database has subject-specific encyclopedias, meaning encyclopedias that focus on one subject, rather than a general subject encyclopedia that has information on a wide variety of subjects.

Use Gale to define terms or research the history and background of a topic.

How to use GVRL

Use Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) which has encyclopedia articles from subject encyclopedias and other reference books.

1) To access GVRL, go to the library website then Research → articles & databases →Gale Virtual Reference Library.

2) At the top of the front page, type in keywords about your topic (D) and click the search icon (E)

3) Review the list of results to find information about your topic for your paper. Note: It is helpful to look at the title of the subject encyclopedia (F) to narrow your search for information.
