This guide serves as a resource of information for the Clark College community to learn about disabilities and support services.

Clark College Libraries is committed to providing equitable access to library services and resources for all users by supporting the vision and mission of Clark College by providing information resources for teaching and learning.

To accomplish these objectives, the library endeavors:

  • To provide organized collections of information resources in varied formats;
  • To make information resources readily accessible by providing adequate staff and appropriate facilities, furnishings, equipment, and supplies; and
  • To facilitate learning and support literacy and community service by encouraging creative instruction, independent study, and effective use of library resources by students, faculty, staff, and the community.

 

Library Overview

Clark College Libraries strives to make the library website accessible in accordance WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA, Section 508, and other accessibility standards and guidelines.

Section 508 is a law that requires federal agencies and some federal contractors to make their websites accessible. This includes making public documents available on the internet, providing electronic and information technology, and web-based training.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to contact the library with any issue concerning the library website. 

Research Resources

The libraries host many electronic resources provided through a variety of commercial vendors and publishers. Access to licensed content is provided through library subscriptions. There are ongoing efforts to assure that the resources provided are designed for accessibility. Select venders continue to work toward compliance, usability, and improving the functionality of databases. 

Clark College Libraries does not endorse products or companies; nor, recommends one product vs another. 

Reference Services

Reference librarians can assist with any questions patrons have about using the library, conducting research, and citations. Assistance is provided via in-person visits, phone, email, and virtual appointments.

  • Call a Clark College librarian: 360-992-2375.
  • Email a Clark College librarian who will respond as soon as possible.
  • Make an appointment for research help by filling out the Ask a Librarian Appointment Form or calling 360-992-2375.

For individual assistance with research projects, students with disabilities are encourage to schedule a consultation with a reference librarian by calling or completing the Ask a Librarian Appointment form.

For best results, Chrome is recommended for JAWS users.
