Off-Campus Log-In for Clark Libraries Databases

Note: If you have unsuccessfully tried to log in more than 10 times, wait at least 15 minutes before trying again.

  • Students: Log in with your Clark Lab Account username and password. This is the same username and password used to log into college computers and wireless. Your username is also the first part of your student email address.
    • For example, if your email address was j.baldwin@students.clark.edu, your username would be j.baldwin. If your email address was k.kardashian2@students.clark.edu, your username would be k.kardashian2.
    • To reset your password, visit Clark Lab Account Update Tool.
  • Faculty/Staff: Log in using your Clark email username (WITHOUT @clark.edu) and password. This is the same username and password used to log into college computers and Clark email on campus.

Troubleshooting

Can't Access Databases?

If you were successful at logging in but have problems accessing specific databases or online resources verify that you are in the right place: all library resources must be accessed through links on the library's website. If you see a second log-in screen, other than the picture above, you are likely in the wrong place. Library resources cannot be accessed through Google. If you are certain that you are in the right place, try these steps:

  • Disable security temporarily
  • Delete cookies
  • Delete temporary files
  • Restart your browser
  • Restart your computer

Can't Access from Workplace?

If you are using a computer at your workplace, your access may be blocked by a firewall. Ask your network administrator to allow access to EZproxy.

Blocked by Personal Firewall?

If you have installed personal firewall software such as Norton Antivirus, you either need to allow access to clarkcollege.idm.oclc.org (or 132.174.248.206) per port or add clarkcollege.idm.oclc.org as a safe site.

Blocked Using Comcast?

If Comcast is your internet service provider and you are unable to access library resources, try the following tip from University of Michigan - Flint LibAnswers:

There is a firewall setting on Comcast modem/router that can interfere with using library resources. Fortunately, you can fix the problem yourself:

  1. Open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox).
  2. Open the wireless gateway’s Admin Tool at http://10.0.0.1
  3. Type in the Comcast/Xfinity username and password for the modem/router.
  4. On the Admin Tool home page click Gateway.
  5. Under Gateway click Firewall.
  6. From there you can choose: Minimum Security (Low).

For more information see Xfinity Advanced Wireless Gateway Features.

Other Access Issues?

Off-Campus Access

Clark College Libraries subscribe to many electronic resources that require logging in when accessed from off campus. These resources are available to Clark College students, faculty and staff.
